Traditions of Brahmins

Dhanyathman,

As you all know that Brahmins have different traditions & practices which are followed from time immorial. But, in the present world, how far we are able to stick to the traditions and rituals. No a days, there are many cases of intercaste marriages in our community. If a Brahmin boy is marrying another girl, how the traditional rituals like Sradham, Sumangali Prarthani etc can be done. Similarly, whether it is right to perform Upanayanam for a male child born from that kind of marriages. If a girl is marrying another community boy, is there any scope to accept the guy in our commmunity. Whether the youth in our community are in the right direction ? Since such problems have started creeping into our community, what is the solution for such acts done by the future generation ? What will be the social attitude of the kids born in this kind of marriages ? who is going to address this issues ? How to address this issues? Whether we need to seek any assistance to check this problem ? please respond with your feedback...

If a Brahmin guy marries another caste woman, she shud be accepted to our community and shud be allowed to practice all the customs and rituals if she is willing to do so...!!!

If a brahmin girl marries another caste guy, it is not likely tht the guy will be wanting to practice our culture. If he is willing ,then he shud be accepted by doing his upanayanam and related customs.

The compulsory thing to be called as a brahmin is to complete the upanayanam. Though practicing brahmins are now very less in number, those who complete this custom can be called as brahmins.

People from other castes who are willing to practice the culture shud be allowed to do so...!!!
